Survey
330 students and teachers of our school answered our survey. The aim of the questionnaire was to know the opinion of people about organ and tissue donation. Thanks to this analysis we realized that there is a lack of information about this topic, even we are the country with the highest donation-rate, there's much more to improve.
The survey was completely anonymous, so we didn't know what was the answer of each person but we knew the results of all the people together. In the graphs below there are the percentages of the answer chosen by the people who complete the survey.
As you can see most of people are in favor of organ donation (83.1%). Moreover, there are some people (13.5%) that don't know if they are in favoyr or against. Just the 3.4% of the people are against.
The most usual reasons why people aren't in favour of donation are shown in the chart below.
This graphic shows the reason of those people who are against organ donation. There are lot of differents opinions.

Most people claim that if in the hospital they see you are a donor, they won't save your live. Followed by the second opinion: "poor people are donors, rich ones are donated".
In this chart we can see that most people still don't know if they will donate their organs. Whereas it's normal to have doubts because we interviewed many students, various teachcers have decided that they will donate. Finally, only the 12.4% refused organ or tissue donation.
Lots of people said that they will accept the donation of their parents, after all, it's their decision. However, the 20% explained that they wouldn't like to donate their parent's organs. Moreover, the 31.1% claimed that they have never thought about this.
Whereas 241 (73%) people agree that they would donate one of their kidneys to a relative, some still have doubts and they don’t know what to do. So, with regard to donating an organ to a family member, we could claim that interviewed students are altruistic.
Only 39 people (12%) answered that they would donate an organ to a completely stranger. As we can see if we compare this graph and the one above, we can state that we take care of people we love but we are not really humanitarian donors in reference to unknown people.
The overwhelming majority of people think that there is not enough information about organ donation, they think there is little information. We strongly believe that we need more information and more sharing of this amazing and unique topic.
